Initially settled by Germans, Lincoln Square continues to honor its heritage by preserving its cultural architecture, promoting its many European delis, and hosting many related events throughout the year. Although much of the community is filled with private residences and small apartment buildings, there are more than enough restaurants, local shops, and entertainment venues to amuse even the most extroverted person around. Start off your leisurely weekend with some brunch, browse through new releases at a local book store, and stock up on high-quality hygiene products at one of Chicagos oldest apothecaries, before heading to a matinee showing at the Davis Theater, or grab some of the freshest fruits and veggies around at the seasonal farmers market. Hop on the CTAs Brown Line or a bus to head into the city whenever you like, or continue to explore this cute neighborhood on foot or with a bike.
